One memorable example took place at a site in Northern Ontario. While collecting data, one of our technicians noticed a striking owl observing the work being done nearby. He took a moment to photograph the bird and share the images with our team. As the day progressed, the technician noticed that the owl didn’t appear to be in full health. He observed the bird struggling to fly and suspected an injured wing. After completing his work, he promptly reported the sighting to the camp’s biological team. Thanks to his quick action, the team was able to assess the situation and determined that the owl required urgent care. They safely captured the bird and transported it to a local wildlife rehabilitation center.
